It is very likely your teachers will be suffering from reform fatigue within short years due to the new changes in teacher evaluation and common core curriculum. The State of Washington is in the process of piloting three different frameworks to possibly be used in the new teacher and principal evaluation system (Danielson, Marzano, 5D+). In setting the stage for this work across the state, the ESDs are exploring and piloting these three frameworks. On the TPEP website (tpep-wa.org), they use the term “instructional framework” to build the case for, and to describe the three frameworks. Although I have a clear understanding as to why this terminology was used, the use of the term “instructional framework” has been confusing for many. I hope the following will help clarify the issues.
