Speaking at the Seattle Arts Museum in downtown Seattle, Dr. Duane Baker, President of The BERC Group, met with a Community of Thinkers
committed to the Arts and Education. Dr. Baker shared the impact of effective classroom practices on student learning and how the arts
play an important role in helping students understand at a conceptual level. Based on The BERC Group’s experience while conducting over
18,000 classroom observations, Dr. Baker explained the essential components of Powerful Teaching and Learning.
Sibyl Barnum with Arts Impact/Puget Sound Educational Service District and Paul Robb with Seattle Public Schools also spoke about the
impact of Arts on Education. The panel ended with a lively and informative question and answer session.
